Entombed were an amazing Swedish Death Metal band as most people know, but for me after "Wolverine Blues" came out they were dead to me. Their best albums were "Left Hand Path" and "Clandestine" and even some singles were great as well, the Crawl ep being a good example. Something happened to them and i always wondered what? So according to Wiki they became Death-n-roll as they recorded "WB" which can only mean one thing, they let thier love of classic rock radio(and practical jokes) destroy their sound as the leaders of buzz saw guitar rotten corpse vocals and doomy frostlike imagery (later adopted by most Black metal groups). I say frostlike because when ever i think of classic Entombed i usually hear wind sound Efx oddly enough and the hilarity of their greatness ensues. I actually went to see them at 13 in Coral Springs FL here's the comment I sent to Metal Inquisition about it:
I was at that show!It was my first concert ever.I remember alot of serial killer t-shirts and some guy telling me Ted Bundy was really smart he did defend himself in court, hahaha!Entombed were incredible and a few weeks before I had just bought Left Hand Path at Spec's in coral springs, florida.I remember everyone was mad at Deicide and one of the members showed up and signed stuff(maybe he wasn't cool enough for the beach!).Skinheads used to love death metal and I'm not sure if they liked to close-line metal heads or the actual music? There were like 17 bands or more I think.I'm really glad you posted this because I have really vague memories of it,I was 13 too.Really awesome thanks!
Entombed seemed to always be a wacky bunch of nutty funsters, but for christ sake leave it at home!

it looks like they all ran to a wacky magic magic shop quick for this photo and obviously they are trying to not take themselves too seriously which is fine, most bands could take that message and use it. However they just took it and messed it up for anyone that likes their first two records. I can't say they sabotaged it so severely that I can't listen to them at all but what the hell happened? Cathedral and Carcass are two other Earache bands that let their hair down to long and never found thier way back, hoo haha there was an accidental pun! None of these bands were able to return to their darkest roots of classic evil and replace the darkness with cutting loose and having fun, to be in a metal band you gotta keep your hatred for humanity sharp as a blade otherwise you end up shitty. So either have fun on your day off (at least not anywhere for people to witness) or break up now. Don't subject us metal fans to a party if we came for a good scare it just fails miserably.
