One-Eyed King: Cool Bay Area band alert!

One-Eyed King are another Melvins/Big Business worshiping stoner metal band from SF that have a sound leaning toward early Clutch or Houdini era Melvins. They have cookie monster type vocals and their groove is more Grand Funk than Sabbath, which is cool. I could see these guys on the 90’s AmRep label, among Helmet and Lubricated Goat. This Mortal Foil and The Consumption, the 1st two tracks on their EP Santa Carla are the reigning champion songs out of the 5 for me at least. “Scene from Another Italian Restaurant” a great song title and is very catchy. The Gene Simmons (God of Thunder vocals really stand out on this one). My only complaint is I would like to have a little more feedback and a more guttural lower tempo (but that’s nitpicking isn’t it?). Tales of sea creatures, zombies and earth devastation, nothing better than that right? I see this band graduating into the Electric Wizard, High on Fire territory. They deserve your attention and are worth your time, so go to their shows and give them money and get in the 90’s time machine. Fix yourself a KILLDOZER while you're at it http://drinkify.org/killdozer and listen to this ep.
