One of the best metal tapes i own is "Sinister Slaughter" by Macabre but everything else they've ever done just seems like a bad joke that gets worse and less funny as it goes along kinda like Ray Stevens.
So I was kinda excited to check out the latest dvd by Macabre "live in Holland" boy was I confused? I really thought these guys were in on their own joke but apparently they are the joke! Every single solitary song was about serial killers, which can be awesome but got very stale after the fourth song.They even had an Albert Fish Ramones style Pinhead character walk out and get pummeled(which was pretty cool). Corporate Death(whom i assume took his name from that Relapse compilation)goes on and on about each killer and then makes goofy jokes about Albert Fish again and again,This guy loves serial killers in an unhealthy fixated way, it grew tiresome. Don't get me wrong this is a brilliant group who are an amazing band but it's very fucked up that they are literally obsessed with murder and serial killing, it's just stupid. That's what i get for reliving my high school busrides and venturing beyond that tape!
