Sleazoid Express R.I.P.

Though this awesome 42 street pamphlet(I mean it's less attached to hipster/indie rock jerko zines anyway) "Sleazoid Express" was hardly read when it was around, only a select few knew about it. Bill Landis, the author of the book(where I discovered it) and the pamphlet(err zine) recently died of a heart attack. I heard this news from videowatch dog blog.

This is the first guy, waay before Michael Weldon(of Psychotronic fame) to go ape shit over trash like "Farewell Uncle Tom" (and as soon as I fix this link situation I can share it's brilliant theme song). and watch "Last House on Dead End Street" at it's theater debut. He's like your guided tour into sleaze ville(or the heyday new york theater strip) as made famous in "Taxi Driver". In the book he says 42 street audiences really knew where a picture was coming from and only the raincoat crowd could under stand such garbage like "Fight for your Life".I can't even sit through that atrocity (and the trailer is even horrible). Here's the awesome theme song by Riz Ortolani
Addio Uncle Tom
(thanks to my friend Jason for providing me with this track)
